I’ve always known I wanted to tell stories, I just never realized my scrapbooking hobby had anything to do with it. I wrote my first “book” at the age of three, illustrated on pin feed paper. In high school, I discovered that journalism could satisfy my passions for both writing and design all in the same place. Today, I’m still telling stories, newsworthy ones, through words and visual elements. I graduated from Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication with a degree in both Magazine Journalism and Publication Design. I pride myself on the ability to combine skills from both of these areas of study to analyze and organize information in new and aesthetically pleasing ways that compliment the written word.

The way that media is changing excites me because it opens up many possibilities for alternative storytelling. My experience with publication design and Content Management Systems, along with a solid writing foundation and practice with newspaper-paced deadlines, makes me a great candidate for multi-platform storytelling.

My favorite types of stories to tell are ones about fitness and nutrition. A lifelong swimmer, exercise has always been a passion of mine. I am interested in finding the latest health-related news and sharing it with readers in practical ways that inspire them to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Please view my blog, which curates nutrition-related news and also hosts links to my articles.
